"The SPIRIT OF WOODWARD 50/50 RAFFLE" RULES

 

GRAND PRIZE
The grand prize consists of one-half of the proceeds from the sale of raffle tickets.  Each ticket costs $50.  The other half of the raffle ticket proceeds go to Operation ABLE of Michigan.  Payment of the prize will be made by Operation ABLE in check on the day after the drawing upon presentation by the winner of the winning ticket stub and a photo ID.

ELIGIBILITY
You must be at least 18 years old to enter.  You do not have to be present to win.

DATE, TIME & LOCATION OF DRAWING
The raffle drawing will take place on Tuesday, June 12, 2007, 8:30 p.m., at the Detroit Historical Museum at the conclusion of "Woodward: Avenue of Memories & Vision," a fundraising event conducted by Operation ABLE of Michigan.

PURCHASE YOUR TICKETS
There are several convenient ways to purchase raffle tickets:

ONLINE - Use the order form that can be downloaded from the Operation ABLE of Michigan web site.  CLICK HERE to download the form.  The form is a Word document that can be filled in and return with payment by credit card as an e-mail attachment.  The form can also be sent by postal mail or fax.  Upon receipt of payment, Operation ABLE will mail the ticket(s) to the person who ordered them.  Tickets can be ordered using the downloadable form until Friday, June 8.

IN PERSON - Purchase your tickets in person on weekdays during normal business hours until June 12 at the office of Operation ABLE of Michigan, 4750 Woodward Ave. - Suite 201, Detroit, MI 48201.  Please call ahead so our staff will be ready to help you.  Our telephone number is (313) 832-0922.

AT THE EVENT - You can buy your raffle tickets until 8:00 p.m. at the event.

TAXES - The grand prize winner is responsible for paying all applicable federal, state and local taxes.  If the prize is more than $600 Operation ABLE will issue an IRS W-2G form to the winner.  If the prize is between $600 and $5,000 and if the winner provides evidence of his or her Social Security Number (SSN), there will be no withholding.  If the prize is more than $5,000 and if the winner provides evidence of his or her SSN, Operation ABLE is required to withhold 25% of the winnings.  If the winner is unable to provide his or her SSN, Operation ABLE is required to withhold 28% of the winnings.
