HOW TO NOMINATE AN OUTSTANDING EMPLOYEE

The Ability is Ageless Award Luncheon is an opportunity for businesses to call attention to outstanding mature employees and to thank them for their hard work and the role they play at the company.

It is an excellent way to recognize the value of truly resilient workers who daily make a difference to the company through their experience, their work ethic, and their commitment to excellence.

To be eligible for an "Ability is Ageless Award," the employee(s) must:

  • live or work in Michigan, and

  • either be 50 years of age or older by October 20, 2004

  • or have at least 25 years of service with his/her employer.

  • Employee nominations may be made by an employer, union, or co-worker.  A company can nominate as many outstanding eligible employees as it wishes to honor.

  • If the nomination is made by a co-worker, the nominee's supervisor must agree.  Many companies require that their Human Resources Department coordinate or approve all nominations.

  • The individual must agree to be nominated.

  • If the person who is being honored is the owner of the company, the nomination can be made by an appropriate company executive or colleague.

  • In submitting a nomination, the company agrees to purchase tickets for the  luncheon.   Reservations are $60 per person.  Tables of 10 are available for $600.
