ANNUAL "THINK TANK" ON JUNE 28
HR Professionals / Employers - Register Now!
On Tuesday, June 28 Operation ABLE of Michigan will host the 9th Annual "Think Tank" from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Dearborn.

Sponsored by the Michigan Department of Community Health Office of Services to the Aging, this year's session will focus on the 2005 Merrill Lynch New Retirement Survey.

Conducted for Merrill Lynch by Harris Interactive® in collaboration with Age Wave, builds upon conventional wisdom that boomers are not interested in pursuing a traditional retirement of leisure.  The majority of boomers relate they plan to keep working and earning in retirement, but will do so by cycling between periods of work and leisure, thus creating a new model of retirement.

The New Retirement Survey offers a complex and illuminating preview of the kind of lifestyles, work styles and recreation activities that boomers envision for their future.  With guidance from noted gerontologist and author Ken Dychtwald, Ph.D., it offers unparalleled insight into the hopes, fears and motivations of this influential generation, as well as the coming impact on retirement, work, recreation, marriage, family, healthcare, housing, entitlements and the economy.

"This study has important implications for human resource managers, workforce development professionals, and elder services planners," notes Karen Kosniewski, president of Operation ABLE of Michigan.

The June 28 session will feature a discussion of the the survey by representatives of Merrill Lynch's Michigan Renaissance Group.

Roundtable discussions will follow on the impact of the report for human resources professionals, facilitated by Toni Knechtges, SPHR.

Thanks to the sponsorship of the Michigan Office of Services to the Aging, there is no charge for this program for human resource representatives, workforce development professionals, and those involved in the planning of services for mid-career and older adults.  However, pre-registration is required.
